Inventory assistant

Give customers an answer, without chasing three people.

A stock question can turn into a search through software, supplier documents and messages. An inventory assistant brings those checks together so staff can spend less time looking and more time helping the customer.

Built project / Inventory assistant

Answer stock questions without the back-and-forth.

When a customer needs an answer about stock, your team may have to check the stock system, look up a supplier’s terms and ask a manager about the rules. That is time the customer spends waiting.

GenSage’s Warehouse Operations Agent brings stock information and company rules into one conversation. Staff can check what is available and whether an emergency order qualifies, without piecing the answer together themselves.

A built demo using synthetic demo data, not a client result. Connecting it to your business is a separately scoped project.

Example question / sample data

“We’re running low on maize meal. Can I place an emergency order?”

01 Check the stock and reorder level
02 Check whether the emergency-order rule is met
03 Find the supplier terms and approval rules
Your team reviews the answer. The assistant does not place orders or change stock.

What would this do for your team?

Less searching. A clearer next step.

Check stock in the same conversation.

Look up a product’s stock and reorder level without starting a separate hunt for the right record. This is useful when a customer needs an answer while you are speaking to them.

Check the ordering rule.

The built assistant checks whether stock meets the emergency-order rule. Staff get the rule-based answer to review, instead of working the calculation out each time.

Find the relevant policy.

Bring supplier terms and approval rules into the answer, so staff spend less time hunting through documents or interrupting a colleague.

How to judge the return

Measure the time from question to answer.

Take a typical stock enquiry. How long does it take to find the stock figure, check the rules and give a useful answer? How many times does someone need help from another team member?

Those are the measures to compare before and after a pilot. Faster access to information could free staff time and reduce customer waiting; the value depends on the number of enquiries and the time actually saved.

Compare that benefit with the build, running and support costs before deciding to extend it.

The demo reads stock records, checks the emergency-order rule and retrieves company policies. It uses sample inventory and synthetic demo data, rather than a client’s warehouse.

For your business, we first confirm which systems it can access, what information staff need and who should review the answers. Your team keeps control of orders and stock changes.

For your technical team

Built with Strands Agents and Amazon Bedrock. DynamoDB supplies stock records, a Python function checks emergency-order eligibility, and a Bedrock Knowledge Base supplies policy passages. The repository includes a Streamlit interface and documents AgentCore Runtime deployment.

The current tools read data; they do not place orders or update inventory. No live assistant is embedded on this website.
